The overshadowing vision of E&A is captured by Wyatt’s own words and personal testimony as he ponders what his life is about…
“When you see your father get promoted to heaven it makes you realize a few things. One is that my dad was only 24 years older than me and he lived to be 89 years. You immediately realize is that you and your generation are next in line for that promotion (or demotion depending on whom you are trusting)! In other words, I can see the finish line very clearly now and that view has definitely made me want to finish the race with a greater determination to win as many souls for Christ as the Lord gives me strength. After all, the only thing that we can take to heaven with us are the souls of men. Everything else that we so greatly value in this life we must leave behind. So, pray that we won’t lose focus on our purpose and our mission!“
History of Emmanuel & Associates
Currently, Wyatt and Vicki are based in the Atlanta, Georgia area, but travel regularly to Britain. Wyatt works with churches to help them build effective strategies to reach their communities with the Gospel. One of the strategies of E&A is the work of the GO-Teams. They work hard with Wyatt in communities every summer, linking churches in North America to partner with those in Britain. It is exciting to see our sovereign God at work. We are looking to Him in faith, believing that He desires to see His church revived in the United Kingdom. We strive to please Him by reaching these nations with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Recently in 2020, another missionary family has come to serve under the umbrella of Emmanuel and associates in England.
Moved family back to the United States at the advice of the board of directors. Benefits – 1) Closer connection with our support base. 2) Children needing to connect with their roots. From this point, Wyatt has traveled extensively back and forth to the UK.
In 2004 the Lord moved their family to Wales, where they continued to see God’s hand at work, helping local churches and working with a church plant outside of Cardiff.
In 2003 EAI became recognized as a charitable trust in the UK. Since that time, the UK board of directors has been instrumental in developing a growing vision for E&A in Britain.
For 15 years, the Gwin family lived in London, where Wyatt was a pastor. The Lord blessed the ministry, and many people put their trust in Jesus and the church grew.
In 1989 the Lord began to build the work of E&A in Ireland, where ministry has continued under the umbrella of Emmanuel and Associates.
By 1987, the Lord opened the door to form a board of directors in Canada. This gave a broader base to the work in the United Kingdom.
September 1986 they moved to the United Kingdom to establish the ministry of E&A.
That summer, 1985, Wyatt was married to Vicki Hall from White Rock, British Columbia.
In Spring 1985, Emmanuel & Associates International (E&A) was founded by Wyatt Gwin, David Jones and Alan Morgan. A U.S board of directors was formed and a vision for an International ministry was put into place.
In the summer of 1982, he traveled to Britain on a short term mission for six weeks and saw the desperate problem that Dr. Applebee had described. He returned to Britain again in 1984 with a team to do evangelism.
In 1981 a British preacher, Dr. Denis Applebee, was preaching in Jackson, MS. As Denis shared the need for the gospel in his native land, Wyatt Gwin felt a call by God to explore this need.
